Caution and Lasson Shonhai

Mashonaland West Province, Zimbabwe

Caution Tichakunda (“we will conquer”) Shonhai of the Moyo/Sinyoro totem was born in Kadoma, Zimbabwe in 1967.

He is married to Susan Nyakusendwa of the Mbizi/Samaita clan and they live with their four children in the rural area of Nyamweda, Mhondoro.

Since 1995, Caution has been a full-time farmer and mbira player. His eldest son, Lasson, accompanies him in these recordings.
